The testing laboratory renders the services of wood and timber product testing to individuals and companies in Latvia and abroad. Our specialization is wood material and product testing, but wide technical possibilities and knowledge allow accomplishing testing services for a wider range of materials and products.

What do we offer?

Furniture testing

The furniture testing sector offers the opportunity to obtain certification of furniture quality from a testing laboratory in accordance with European (EN) and other national standards. Test reports issued by the testing laboratory are recognised in all countries of the European Economic Area. In the furniture testing sector, it is possible to carry out furniture tests not only in accordance with European standards, but also using non-standard testing methods in line with the client’s requirements.

Reaction to fire testing

Fire performance testing assesses the impact of a material or system on a fire, particularly in the early stages, when this is crucial for safe evacuation from a building or transport system.

Mechanical testing

In the mechanical testing sector, we primarily determine the physical and mechanical properties of solid wood, glued timber and wood-based panels. However, we also offer testing of the physical and mechanical properties of various other materials and products using methods adapted to standards or customer requirements.

Solid biofuels testing

The testing laboratory carries out tests on various wood-based energy products in accordance with the quality testing methodology for solid biomass approved by the European (CEN) and international (ISO) standardisation committees. For wood chips, pellets, briquettes and other similar products, it is necessary to assess key parameters such as moisture content, particle size, calorific value and ash content, which characterise their energy efficiency.

We provide services and consultancy, including expert analysis, reports and recommendations.

Seminars, courses and training sessions

We offer programmes at various levels – seminars and training courses for various target groups – managers and employees of woodworking companies, industry specialists, as well as representatives of related sectors.
