About the sector

Furniture quality in accordance withstandards

The furniture testing sector offers the opportunity to obtain certification of furniture quality in accordance with European (EN), international (ISO) and national standards. Test reports issued by the testing laboratory are recognised worldwide.

The testing laboratory has been accredited by the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau (LATAK) in accordance with the requirements of LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and has been assigned registration number T-316.

In the furniture testing sector, it is possible to carry out furniture tests not only in accordance with standards but also using non-standard testing methods, in line with the client’s requirements.

We assess children’s furniture (e.g. cots, rockers, school furniture), domestic and non-domestic furniture (e.g. chairs, tables, various storage units, beds, mattresses, bunk beds), and office furniture.

In the furniture testing sector

We carry out furniture testing, both within and outside the scope of our accreditation. (We are constantly improving and expanding our scope of accreditation, but if a particular method is not yet accredited, we assess our technical capabilities and make a decision together with the client).
We offer testing services for product design and development. (New product development. Improvement of existing products. Business incubators and start-ups. These and many other scenarios can be realised with the help of indicative testing).
Consultancy and assessment services for children’s playgrounds. (When designing active toys or playgrounds, it is valuable to have the product assessed by an independent body and to have any shortcomings identified before the product is manufactured).
We help to plan and implement testing programmes for non-standard cases, in line with our technical capabilities and expertise. (There are times when an innovative product lacks suitable standards against which to assess it. In such cases, we have no choice but to use our knowledge, expertise and technical capabilities to assess the product.)
We carry out durability, static and other types of tests on various types of furniture and similar products.
