Quality of wood for energy production

The testing laboratory carries out tests on various wood-based energy products in accordance with the quality testing methodology for solid biomass approved by European (CEN) and international (ISO) standardisation committees.

For wood chips, pellets, briquettes and other similar products, it is necessary to assess key parameters such as moisture content, particle size, calorific value and ash content, which characterise their energy efficiency.

The laboratory is equipped with modern and appropriate equipment, enabling fast and accurate results to be obtained.

The testing laboratory has been accredited by the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau (LATAK) in accordance with the requirements of LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and has been assigned registration number T-316.

If necessary, we arrange for samples to be delivered on behalf of the client and prepare them for testing. We offer particularly favourable terms to legal entities for regular testing to ensure product quality control in both manufacturing and supply.

Wood chips

Wood chips used for energy production. We assess moisture content, particle size, calorific value and ash content.

Pellets

Wood pellets for energy production. We test mechanical strength, density, moisture content and calorific value.

Briquettes

Wood chip briquettes — a dense, solid biofuel. We assess the key quality parameters in accordance with the relevant standards.
