We are hosting an OECD delegation

Yesterday, February 16, MeKA was pleased to host the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) delegation, which is visiting Latvia this week to discuss the role of forestry in the bioeconomy and the sector’s resilience to risks. It was a great opportunity to share Latvia’s achievements and our team’s work in this area.

✅ We demonstrated MeKA’s fire reaction test laboratory – an essential prerequisite for the safe and sustainable expansion of wood use in construction.

✅ We presented MeKA’s projects in knowledge creation and transfer: new product development, cooperation with MNKC and knowledge commercialization – precisely for those solutions that strengthen innovations and are consistent with the directions of the European bioeconomy strategy.

During the talks, we also highlighted the practical steps Latvia is taking to make wooden construction a real solution for the climate and bioeconomy.

Thank you to the OECD team for the professional discussions and the opportunity to show what Latvia is doing in practice in this area.
