LLU employees awarded Forest Industry Annual Awards “Golden Cone 2021”

The Forest Days Committee has determined the winners of the “Golden Cone 2021” Annual Award for the Forest Industry. The award “Golden Cone” is awarded to Rūta Kazāks, a long-term employee of the Forest Faculty of the Latvia University of Agriculture, and Andrejs Domkins, the head of SIA “Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Institute” and a guest lecturer at the Forest Faculty. The prize “Golden Cone” was awarded to Linards Sisenis, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry of the Latvia University of Agriculture and leading researcher.

The annual award of the Forest Industry “Golden Cone 2021” in four nominations – “For Lifelong Investment”, “For Innovative Entrepreneurship”, “For Investment in Public Education” and “For Sustainable Management”, is presented for the eighteenth time every year.

Rūta Kazakas, a long-term employee of the Faculty of Forestry, receives the “Golden Cone” award for her significant contribution to the development of the industry over her lifetime in the nomination “For Lifelong Investment”. Andrejs Domkins, the head of the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Institute of SIA, and Andrejs Domkins, a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Forestry, were awarded the “Golden Cone” award for their contribution to public education. leading researcher Linard Sisenis. The award ceremony is planned for spring, during the Forest Days.

The Golden Cone Annual Award for the Forest Sector is the highest annual recognition in the forest sector for significant achievements and contributions to the industry. The aim of the award is to promote the development and importance of the forest sector in society. In addition, during the competition, the Forest Industry Annual Award has been presented to almost 200 Latvian foresters, researchers, entrepreneurs, associations and companies.
