MeKA Expands Its Reaction to Fire Testing Capacity

The Reaction to Fire Testing Laboratory of Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Institute (MeKA) has commenced operation of a new, second SBI testing apparatus in accordance with the EN 13823 test method. The introduction of this additional equipment significantly increases the laboratory’s testing capacity and enables faster and more flexible service for clients.

The second SBI testing system allows for reduced testing lead times and substantially lowers the risk of downtime, ensuring continuity of testing services even in the event that one of the systems is temporarily unavailable for technical reasons.

The Reaction to Fire Testing Laboratory provides reaction to fire testing and classification of construction products in accordance with EN 13501-1. The laboratory offers a full range of reaction to fire test methods required for the classification of products into reaction to fire classes A2, B, C, D, E and F.

Investments in laboratory infrastructure demonstrate the institute’s commitment to delivering high-quality testing services, strengthening industry competitiveness, and providing clients with reliable and internationally recognized conformity assessment.
