MeKA visits Blumer Lehmann

This spring, we met Blumer Lehmann at the Baltic Wood Construction Forum, where we were inspired to go see the Blumer Lehmann factory in person!

Therefore, last week our researcher Kristaps Ziverts went to Switzerland to participate in “The Future of Timber – Rhino User Meeting 2025”, which took place on 18-19 in September at Blumer Lehmann in cooperation with McNeel Europe.

The conference brought together leading architects, engineers, digital fabricators and researchers to share the latest trends in wood architecture, parametric design and digital fabrication. Innovative solutions combining Rhino and Grasshopper tools with sustainable construction principles were presented. Special attention was paid to the future of wood as a building material, its digital processing and application in complex constructions.

The event promoted the exchange of knowledge between academia and industry, providing an opportunity to establish contacts, discuss cooperation opportunities and gain inspiration for future projects. The conference confirmed the importance of digital tools in sustainable architecture and the development of wooden construction.
